Jim McGovern will replace Miller as the Criminal Chief in the EDNY, a district which has been increasingly involved in FCPA cases (e.g., Morgan Stanley, Ralph Lauren, and, as reported in the media, at least one “Princeling” investigation). McGovern is an experienced trial lawyer who has served for more than a decade in the Department. His cases include the fraud prosecution against former Bear Stearns executives Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin and the death penalty prosecution against Ronell Wilson for murdering two New York City Police Department Detectives. McGovern previously served in the EDNY’s Business and Securities Fraud Section.
