On January 9, Leslie R. Caldwell, the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, announced that Andrew Weissmann had been selected as the Chief of the Fraud Section.  Weissmann previously served as the FBI’s general counsel under former Director Robert S. Mueller and has been teaching at NYU School of Law.  Prior to that, Weissmann was a partner at Jenner & Block in New York.  Weissmann also was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, where he also served as Chief of the Criminal Division and joined the Enron Task Force.
