On March 13, Steven Hart, a former portfolio manager at an investment management firm headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, pled guilty to obstruction of justice and perjury relating to an SEC investigation into his trading practices.  Hart made materially false statements in testifying before the SEC; when the SEC called the firm, Hart also impersonated other employees, including the firm’s president.  Impersonating the latter, Hart claimed to the SEC that the president was aware of and had approved Hart’s trading activities.  United States v. Hart, 15-cr-84 (S.D.N.Y.).  DOJ Press Release
