On May 13, the Senate voted, 84-12, to confirm Sally Quillian Yates as Deputy Attorney General, the No. 2 spot at DOJ.  Yates was most recently the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, and had been a prosecutor in that office since 1994.  To many observers, the overwhelming bipartisan vote in her favor reflected the Senate’s view that Yates, as a career prosecutor, would be a “law and order” DAG.
