On January 15, the United States Supreme Court granted certiorari on the petition of Bob McDonnell, the former governor of Virginia, for review of his bribery conviction  on charges that he used his office to help a businessman who gave him and his wife luxury products, loans and vacations. The Fourth Circuit upheld McDonnell’s conviction last July. McDonnell v. United States, 15-474 (S. Ct. 2016)
