On August 19, Razak Dosunmu, a Washington-based businessman, was convicted by a jury of offering illegal gratuities to a Department of Defense procurement official while negotiating aviation fuel contracts worth over $1 billion.  According to the evidence at trial, Dosunmu initially offered to purchase the official a house; in subsequent conversations, Dosunmu offered the official $2 million.  United States v.
