On May 8, 2017, Bumble Bee Foods LLC pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to fix the price of shelf-stable tuna fish from as early as the first quarter of 2011 through at least the fourth quarter of 2013. Bumble Bee has agreed to pay a criminal fine of $25 million and to cooperate with the ongoing investigation of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. Additionally, the criminal fine will increase to $81.5 million in the event of a sale of Bumble Bee subject to certain terms and conditions. United States v.
